Brits 'not making the most of their tech' header image

Britons are not making full use of their technological gadgets, new research has revealed.

According to a Barclays survey, people in the UK have bought over 70 million tech devices in the past year, but a third of these do not know how to use their product to its full potential.

Steven Roberts, strategic transformation director at the bank, stated: "It's clear that we're buying technology and not using it to its full extent … This may be down to a lack of confidence and also a lack of understanding."

There are a number of reasons why people may not be using their tablets or smartphones to their full capacity and there is a good chance broadband could be one of these.

Most features on these devices are reliant on the internet and for people that do not have a good connection, this could hold back their attempts to utilise their tech.

To raise tech awareness among Britons Barclays has established the 'Digital Eagles', a group of 7,000 experts who will be on hand in the bank's branches to educate customers on how to make the most of their devices.
