Shrewsbury and Atcham MP Daniel Kawczynski has warned that many parts of Shropshire are still struggling with poor ADSL connections and expressed his hope the county will not be ignored in the rollout of superfast broadband.
Mr Kawczynski told the Shropshire Star many of his constituents have either "very poor or no broadband service", with the issue especially pronounced in agricultural areas.
He added that he intends to work with the local council to ensure that everyone in the area is given access to the right technology to boost their web presence.
Councillor Martin Taylor-Smith, Shropshire council cabinet member for IT, assured the MP that the organisation is doing all it can to roll out superfast speeds.
Despite the problems facing rural consumers in the area, a report recently found that Willowfield in Telford has the UK's fastest broadband speeds, registering 70.9 Mbps over the last six months.
