Northumberland family hail 'amazing satellite broadband' header image

A family in Northumberland have been able to enjoy the full benefits of the internet thanks to Avonline satellite broadband

The Turners, who live in East Ditchburn near North Charlton, won a year's free subscription to the service from the Northumberland Gazette and told the newspaper they are very happy with the difference it has made.

Linda Turner, mother of Patrick, Robert and Daniel, commented: "It's fantastic really … It's so much better than what we had before, it's amazing. The kids can do their homework, no problem."

The family had previously been using a dial-up internet connection, which provided very low speeds of around 0.03 Mpbs - Avonline satellite broadband offers speeds of up to 20 Mbps.

As a result of their lack of connectivity, the Turners said they had been feeling increasingly isolated from the outside world, but are now able to stay in touch with friends and relatives much more easily.

Ms Turner added the new technology has enabled her to shop online, something that simply was not possible with their previous connection.

The family also had praise for the service provided by Avonline and said they are likely to renew their subscription once the first year runs out.

"I don't think we can go back to what we had. Once you've had broadband, you can't go back to dial-up," Ms Turner stated.

"They [Avonline] were very efficient when they came to install it. I have rung them up with queries and they have been great. They have been really, really helpful," she added.

The Turners are just one example of how satellite broadband can help households in the UK that are otherwise unable to enjoy the full benefits of the internet.

Having access to the web is increasingly important to everyday life, with everything from school homework to banking becoming more reliant on the net. If you would like to know more about how satellite broadband could help you, contact Avonline today.
