UK has 22 million broadband connections header image

The number of broadband connections in the UK has increased, according to new figures.

Statistics from Point Topic show there were just under 22 million subscriptions in the first quarter of this year.

Super-fast broadband accounted for 3.98 million of these connections, which is an increase of around 700,000 on the final quarter of 2012, Total Telecom reports.

While it is encouraging that the number of people with access to the internet in the UK is increasing, these statistics show that the majority of people are still without a super-fast service.

This type of connection is becoming more and more important in allowing Britons to make the most of the opportunities provided by being online.

For example, working from home, online gaming and video streaming are all much easier with a fast and reliable connection.

One way to get this service - even in rural areas - is through satellite broadband. Why not take a look at the benefits?
